1 INITIAL USE
- Remove anyprotectiveplastic films and stickers
- Fill the water tank usingonlypure, lukewarm water.
- Fill thebean container usingsolely roasted coffee beans.
For the first time use, please see the chapters below step by step to prepare the machine.
1.1 Setting up the machine Notice:
Choose a spot which protects the machine against overheating; ensure that the ventilation slots are not covered. Only use the machine in a frost-free room; if it has been transported or stored at
temperature below 0°C, wait at least 3 hours before setting it up.
- Remove the water tank,rinseit and fill it with fresh and filtered water up to the "max" mark.
- Replace the water tankandinsert in place.
- Remove thebeancontainer lid.
- Remove any dirt or foreign objects frominsidethe bean container.
- Fill thebean container only withcoffee beans and close the lid.
- Insertthepower plug into a socket.
1.2 First time use – Determining the water hardness
When you use the machine for the first time, it is important to set the water hardness correctly to enable the machine to accurately indicate when the descaling programme should be run.
- Use the enclosed test strip todeterminethe water hardness.
- Briefly dip the teststripin water for 2 seconds.
- Hold the striphorizontallyfor 10 seconds.
- Check the degree of water hardness from the discolorationof the teststrip.
NOTE
Water hardness default setting is level 5 – Very Hard Water.
- Press the On/Off powerbuttonto switch the machine on.
- Coffee strengthiconlight goes on.
- Check the degree of water hardness from the discolorationof the teststrip.
- When thereisno red square shown on the water hardness test strip, please select with level 1 – soft water.
- Tap the coffee strength icon to choosecorrespondingwater hardness level.
- PressStart/Cancelicon to confirm
- Themachine will startheating up and perform the automatic rinsing cycle
- During heating up, the lights in the drink icons light up and go out slowly one by one.
1.3 General
- Themachine will startheating up and perform the automatic rinsing cycle every switch-on.
- During heating up, the lights in the drink icons light up and go out slowly one by one.
Notice:
Hot water will be dispensed from beverage outlet when machine is in automatic rinsing.
- When alllightsin the drink icons light up continuously, the machine is ready to use (beverage selection mode).
- The Clean&Calc icon lights up. You can tap to choose milk system cleaning, or long-press 2.5 seconds to choose descaling function (see chapter “CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE”).
- Themachine will switch off andperform the automatic rinsing cycle after 30 minutes of last drink brewed.
- Machine will perform the automatic rinsing cycle when switching off if coffee or milk beverages have been brewed.
Tip:
When the machine is used for the first time after running a rinsing service program, or if it has not been operated for a long period, the first beverage will not have the full aroma and should not be consumed.
2 PREPARING DRINKS
- For double cup settings, coffeeisprepared in two stages, please wait until the process is completely finished.
- Steam willbe generated and discharging duringbeverages brewing, it’s normal that there is steam or condensation on the lid surface of pre-ground coffee chute and vent slots.
Notice:
Hot coffee, hot steam and hot water can cause scalding.
2.1 Personalizing drinks
- Thismachine allows you to adjust the settingsof a drink to your own preference. After selecting a drink you can:
- Adjust the drink quantity by tapping the drink volume icon and/or the milk volume icon(specific types only). There are 3 volumes selectable: low, medium and high.
- Adjust the aroma strength by tapping the strength icon. There are 3 strengths, one-dot is the mildest and three-dot is the strongest.
Notice:
You can also adjust the coffee temperature to your own preference (see chapter "Adjusting drink temperature")
2.2 Preparing drinks with beans
- Place a cup underneath thebeverageoutlet, and you can slide the beverage outlet up or down to adjust its height.
- Tobrew a coffee,press the coffee drink icon of your choice.
- The aroma strength and quantity lights go on and shows the previously selected settings.
- You can now adjust the drink to your preferred taste (see chapter "Personalizing drinks")
- Tobrew 2 drinks at the same time, tapthe double cup icon, the double cup light goes on.
Notice:
Double cup option is not available for the drink Americano.
- Press thestart/cancelbutton.
- The light in the start/cancel button dims and brightens while the drink is being dispensed.
Notice:
Specific types only - an Americano is made of Espresso and water; when you brew an Americano, the machine first dispenses an Espresso and then hot water.
- To stop dispensing drink before themachineis finished, press the start/cancel button.
- If the machine is interrupted during beverage brewing, it will perform a self-checking cycle.
- When brewing is finished, the machine willbein beverageselection mode.
2.3 Preparing milk-based drinks
This fully automatic coffee machine has an integrated beverage outlet. This can be used to prepare coffee drinks with milk or also milk froth.
- Connect one end ofmilk tubeto the beverage outlet.
- Insert another end of themilk tubein the milk container or a milk carton.
- Fillmilk container withmilk, do not fill the container beyond the maximum indication.
Tip: Use cold milk directly from the fridge for optimal results.
- Press themilk-based drinkicon of your choice.
- The aroma strength, coffee quantity and milk volume lights go on and shows the previously selected settings.
- You can now adjust the drink to your preferred taste (see chapter "Personalizing drinks")
- Tobrew 2 drinks at the same time, tapthe double cup icon, the double cup light goes on.
- Press thestart/cancelbutton.
- The light in the start/cancel button dims and brightens while the drink is being dispensed. • You can press start/cancel to stop milk/milk froth and coffee dispensing.
- If the machine is interrupted during beverage brewing, it will perform a self-checking cycle. • When brewing finished, the milk system cleaning reminder will goes on with the upper left icon
flashing.
- Milk system cleaning is suggested when every milk beverage finished.
2.4 Preparing drinks with pre-ground coffee Notice:
Never add pre-ground coffee when the machine is off or it could spread through the inside of the machine and make it dirty. This could damage the machine.
You can choose to use pre-ground coffee instead of beans, for example if you prefer a different coffee variety or decaffeinated coffee.
- Press the On/Off powerbuttonto switch the machine on.
- Place a cupunderneaththe beverage outlet.
- Open thelid of thepre-ground coffee chute and pour no more than one spoon of pre-ground coffee into it. Close the lid.
- If more than one spoonofpre-ground coffee is used, it could soil the inside of the coffee machine or block the coffee chute.
- Select the coffee drinkiconof your choice.
- Tap the aroma strengthicon topre-ground coffee mode.
- The pre-ground coffee light goes on.
- You cannow adjust the drink volume or milkvolume (if milk-based beverage is selected).
- Press thestart/cancelbutton.
- The light in the start/cancel button dims and brightens while the drink is being dispensed. • To stop dispensing coffee before the machine is finished, press the start/cancel button.
- If the machine is interrupted during beverage brewing, it will perform a self-checking cycle. • When brewing is finished, the machine will be in beverageselection mode.
Notice: When using ground coffee, the option for dispensing two cups at once is not available.
2.5 Dispensing hot water
- Place a cupunderneaththe beverage outlet.
- Pressthehot water icon.
- The drink volume light goes on and show the previously selected drink setting for hot water.
- Adjust thehot water volume to your preference by tapping thedrink volume icon.
- Press thestart/cancelbutton.
- The light in the start/cancel button dims and brightens while the drink is being dispensed.
- To stop dispensing coffee before themachineis finished, press the start/cancel button.
- When brewing is finished, the machine willbein beverageselection mode.
2.6 Extraction guidance
Depending on your choice of beans, you might need to adjust the grinder setting to a finer or more coarse choice.
- PerfectEspresso
Flowing like warm honey, nut-brown crema, well balanced and lingering taste. 2. Under extracted
Flowing fast like water, light and pale crema.
To make it perfect: adjust grinding setting to a finer setting and select a higher strength. 3. Over extracted
Flowing in drips or not at all, crema very dark and not uniform.
To make it perfect: adjust grinding setting to a coarser setting and select a lower strength.
- ADJUSTINGMACHINE SETTINGS
3.1 Parameter setting mode
- Themachinemust be ready to use (in beverage selection mode).
- LongpressLatte Macchiato and Milk Froth icons at the same time for three seconds to enter parameter setting mode.
- The drink volume, coffee strength and milk volume icons go on.
3.2 Adjusting drink temperature
- Machinemustbe in the parameter setting mode.
- Tap the drink volumeicon to select the requiredcoffee temperature: normal, high or max.
- Respectively 1, 2 or 3 lights are on.
- When drink temperature settingsis finished,press start/cancel button to save the settings.
- Machine goesback tobeverage selection mode.
3.3 Setting the water hardness
- Check the degree of water hardness from the discolorationof the teststrip. (See chapter "Determining the water hardness")
- Machinemustbe in the parameter setting mode.
- Tap the coffee strengthicon to choose corresponding. waterhardness level, when there is no red square shown on the water hardness test strip, please select with level 1 – soft water.
- When youhave set the correct water hardness,press start/cancel button to save the setting.
- Machine goesback tobeverage selection mode.
Notice:
Since you only set the water hardness once, the aroma strength function is used to select the water hardness. This does not affect the aroma strength of drinks you make afterwards.
3.4 Restoring settings
- Machinemustbe in the parameter setting mode.
- LongpressLatte Macchiato and Milk Froth icons at the same time for three seconds.
- Allparameters willbe reset to default settings.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- CleaningProgramme
1.1. Milk system cleaning programme
- Whenmilk-basedbeverage is brewed.
- The milk system cleaning reminder will light up with the upper left icon flashing.
- Milk system cleaning is suggested when every milk beverage finished.

- Remove themilkpipe from milk container, wipe it and insert the end of the suction pipe into the hole on the cup tray.
- Tap the Clean&Calc icon to choose themilksystem cleaning function.
- The milk system cleaning reminder will light up with the upper left icon flashing.
- Press thestart/cancelbutton.
- The light in the start/cancel button dims and brightens during milk system rinsing.
- When cleaning is finished, the machine willbein beverageselection mode.
Notice:
During milk system rinsing, a small amount of water will be discharged from milk pipe.
1.2. Descaling programme Takes about 40 minutes
Notice:
Machine can still brew about 50 drinks when descaling icon lights up. If the machine is not descaled when it is supposed to be, the machine will be locked, only showing the descaling icon. Immediately perform the descaling process in accordance with the instructions.
- When descalingneeded
- The ‘descaling reminder’ icon light is on, with the upper right icon flashing to indicate descaling needed.
- Tap the ‘descaling reminder’ icon.
- Or when you long press theClean&Calcicon to choose descaling function
- The "descaling reminder" icon continuously lights on.
- Press theStart/Cancelicon.
- The light in the descaling reminder icon dims and brightens.
- The "coffee grounds container full" icon starts to flash to remind you to empty the drip tray.
- Emptydriptray and replace.
- Pour lukewarm water into the emptywatertank up to "MAX" mark and then dissolve 2 descaling tablets in it.
- Remove themilkpipe from milk container, wipe it and insert the end of the suction pipe into the hole on the cup tray.
- During descaling, the "coffee groundscontainer full"icon will be flashing each 10 minutes.
- Empty drip tray when the "coffee grounds container full" icon light is flashing.
- When "water tank empty"iconlights up.
- Empty and rinse the water tank under running water .
- Fill the empty tank with fresh and cold water and replace the water tank.
- Themachineperforms an automatic rinsing cycle.
- The "coffee grounds container full"icon light will flashto remind you to empty the drip tray after the rinsing cycle finished.
- Empty the drip tray and replace.
- Machine goesback tobeverage selection mode.
Warning:
Never interrupt the descaling programme. Do not drink dispensed liquids!
- Care AndDaily Cleaning
Never immerse the machine in water. Do not steam-clean the machine.
- Remove the drip trayandcoffee grounds container.
- Wipe theinside of themachine with a soft cloth.
- Donot useany cleaning agents containing alcohol.
- Donot useabrasive cloths or cleaning agents.
The following parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher:
drip tray container, drip tray cover, coffee ground container, milk tube, beverage outlet.
- Drip tray and coffee grounds containercleaning
Empty the drip tray daily or as soon as the orange "drip tray full" indicator pops up through cup tray. Empty coffee grounds container when "coffee grounds container full" icon is flashing.
- Pull thedriptray out forwards.
- Remove drip tray coverandcoffee grounds container.
- Empty,rinse, cleanand dry individual parts.
- Replacethedried parts.
- Milk system cleaningmanually
- Pull the outletcover forwardto remove.
- Uplift thelimitedspring to the groove.
- Pull the beverageoutlet forwardcompletely to remove.
- Remove themilk tube.
- Dismantle the top andbottom sectionsof the beverage outlet.
- Clean all theindividualparts under the tap with lukewarm water.
- Put theindividual outletparts back together again.
Attach the beverage outlet directly from the front firmly for the fourconnections.
- Replace the cover.
- Cleaning thebrewingunit
In addition to the automatic rinsing programme, the brewing unit should be removed for cleaning weekly.
- Switchoffmachine.
- Remove the water tank and opentheservice door.
Press the brewing unit orange knob towards PUSH arrow direction to end position and hold at the recessed grips of the brewing unit to remove it from the machine.
- Clean brewing unitthoroughlyunder the water jet.
Notice: Clean brewing unit without using washing-up liquid and do not put it in the dishwasher.
- Clean theinside of themachine thoroughly with a moist cloth.
- Leave thebrewing unit andthe inside of the machine to dry.
- Slide thebrewingunit back into the machine along the guiding rails on the sides and press it until it audibly clicks into place.
